Gloucester City Swim School Gloucester

Gloucester City Swimming Club (GCSC) has been in existence since 1910. It is based in the city of Gloucester, with members of the Club coming from the city and the surrounding towns of North Gloucestershire.

The Club has an excellent Coaching team who have reached the peak of achievement during their own sporting careers. They have the desire and enthusiasm to get the best out of the swimmers whatever their goals may be.

The Club is focused on the development of swimmers from the age of 8 to early 20s, with a clear objective of attaining the competitive standard of an open meet through to County, Regional, National and International finals. GCSC is a competitive swimming club striving for National success, and as such performance is also acknowledged and celebrated.

We are fortunate to have the use of the Gloucester GL1 Leisure Centre as the base for all our pool training, as well as local competition. For long-course training (50-metre pool) we use the excellent Bath University pool.
We use two swimming pools at GL1 – Barton Pool and Twyver Pool. Both pools are adjoined by dedicated changing and showering facilities. Barton Pool is located alongside the main swimming pool changing village.

Barton Pool - Barton Pool is an 8-lane, 25-metre competition pool with a stadium seating area as well as a raised spectator viewing gallery above the starting end. The pool features a purpose-built competition cubicle and announcer stand.

Twyver Pool - Twyver Pool is a 4-lane, 25-metre training pool that provides an enclosed and cosy training venue. There is very limited spectator viewing space.
